Mock Survey Inspections

Dining Service Departments are a major concentration of State, Federal and Joint Commission Surveys. JCCS’s MSI program implements numerous quality assurance audits to ensure proper protocol is followed and to demonstrate compliance to surveyors (when necessary). Mock surveys are an opportunity to evaluate systems, procedures and processes of care and to identify potential survey-risk areas. JCCS will perform the Mock Survey with the Dining Service Manager and leave ample time to develop and execute an improvement plan prior to the survey open window date. After the Mock Survey is completed, JCCS will follow up with the facility’s Executive Director and Maintenance Director to discuss improvement plans and set deadlines for these improvement plans to be accomplished.

What To Expect

JCCS will be hands on during the improvement plan timelines to ensure these areas of concern are addressed and on track for completion. Thus, JCCS will communicate with both the Dining Service Director and the Executive Director during each step of the improvement plan completion.

The Mock Survey covers the following areas:

  • Resident Satisfaction
  • Kitchen & Dining Room Sanitation
  • Tray Audit
  • OSHA Inspection Guidelines
  • Equipment & Maintenance Unit Inspection
